CareWave offers a large selection of specialized positioning cushions. The unique design of the polystyrene micro-beads along with the stretchable Polyurethane covers allow for specific positioning for pressure relief, support and comfort. These cushions have an anti-microbial treatment and are easy to clean and disinfect.
The CareWave body positioning system is very versatile. Offering support in sizes ranging from infants to adults, the unique micro-bead filling allows a care person to adjust the support and comfort level around the user’s body and limbs to protect from skin lesions and assist with positioning the individual when sleeping at night etc.
When positioning the individual, these ultra-flexible positioning cushions offer ‘dynamic’ support rather than rigid support which means the person can still manage shifting their position during their night’s sleep so they can find that effective but elusive lying position, whether supine (face up), prone (face down), or side lying. These cushions can be used on beds, on the floor, in wheelchairs and day chairs or anywhere.

The filling of CareWave cushions is composed of high quality round polystyrene micro particles. As thin as sand, the extreme small form-factor of the micro-beads used in our cushions allow rapid and easy postures, maintaining comfortably the patient on body parts in contact with the cushion while relieving pressure on areas with risk of bedsores. Thanks to the combination of these micro-beads together with our polyurethane bi-elastic cover, our cushions:
are light and easy to use
adapt to all morphologies
give support and hold comfortably the patient
help reduce pressure
The expanded polystyrene (that one used for the filling of our cushions) is widely used in disposable food containers with very strict requirements as it is in direct contact with food with the risk be ingested. Several epidemiological studies have been made, with rather important styrene exposure levels and absence of exposure to other chemicals. These studies do not show any association between cancer and styrene. Source: FT2 – INRS
This new bacteriostatic, fungistatic and antimicrobial treatment constituted of a silver component is very efficient in the fight against the development of multiresistant bacteria and MRSA.
Microbiological tests are regularly made for determination of:
The fungistatic effect against Aspergillus Niger EMPA18, according to SN 195 921 standards
The antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus Aureaus ATCC 6538, according to SN 195 920 standards
